It is an honor and privilege to be the Face of Christ as I serve the poor at St. Anthony Food Pantry in St. Louis. Our poor come from families of generational poverty. They may be homeless, have mental illness, or they may be refugees or immigrants. We don’t need to ask questions about their past; they are hungry, and so we serve them. When I think that the pantry served 2,921 different households in 2018, I am so happy that I could help them. What would these families have done without a place to get food? God is so good and loves His poor. It is a joy for me to think that I am right there, with Jesus, feeding the hungry as He did.
